Rather than fitting the material to the design, we fit the design to the material. Destined for the burn barrel, we gave this wood the treatment it deserves. A play on living art, we set slices of spalted maple logs in black resin taking care to accentuate the the natural beauty of living wood. The frame is cracked knotted pine. The cracks were filled with black resin. Fitted together with pegged tenons, this piece truly celebrates the material it was born of.
