Welcome to Wahi Woodworks
Welcome to Wahi Woodworks. We are a custom wood shop out of Chattanooga, Tennessee that was started by designer and craftsman Anthony Wahi. Driven by a desire to create pieces that celebrate both form and function, our aim is to construct them in such a way that would boast strength and showcase the natural beauty of solid hardwoods. We will meet with our clients face to face, discuss their likes and dislikes, walk them through the design process, and come out the other side with a piece that is as functional as it is beautiful, and as strong as it is stunning.
The Owner
Throughout his youth and young manhood, Anthony always had a penchant for the arts, particularly music and making. He is self taught, descending from a long line of artists, writers and tinkerers.
Our Products
From the second we put pencil to paper during the design process up to the moment we crate and ship, we aim to achieve very simple but none the less essential goals.
The first is to create heirloom quality pieces that will last lifetimes. A keepsake box, a hope chest, a dining table...these things can tell stories to those who would listen. Handed down through generations, they can tell us where they came from and detail their journey through road maps of scratches, dings and the words of our loved ones. To build a lasting beauty is paramount to the craft and to the ultimate satisfaction of the craftsman and client.
A second and equally important goal we strive to achieve is to do a service to the material we work with. With our pieces we aim to showcase the natural beauty that occurs in solid wood. This beauty takes decades, even centuries to develop so we feel as though we have a responsibility to honor it. All of our material is sourced responsibly. Kiln dried (not chemically treated) and, in some cases, milled at our shop from trees that would have otherwise been used as firewood.
We make things that are worth making so that our clients can have things that are worth having. It really is as simple as that.
